1vXEsports 1vX is a situation in a round when one player is left against several opponents (X being their number) and must either win the round alone or hold out until the end.

A

ADRCS2 ADR is a statistical metric showing the average damage a player deals per round of a match. It is used as one of the key metrics for evaluating player performance in CS2. Anti-cheatEsports Anti-cheat is a software system that detects and blocks the use of cheats (third-party software for unfair advantage) in a game. AnubisCS2 Anubis is one of the competitive maps in the official CS2 map pool, set in an Egyptian environment with two bomb sites and a central area featuring wells. AWP sniperCS2 AWP sniper is a player in CS2 whose primary role is to work with the AWP rifle: holding long distances, controlling key sightlines, and eliminating opponents with a single shot.

C

CallsCS2 Calls are team decisions about round tactics: where to go, which strategy to run, when to attack or fall back. They're usually made by the player responsible for the team's tactics. Console commandEsports Console command is a text instruction that a player types into the game console to change game settings, mechanics behavior, or get service information.

D

DefaultCS2 Default is a standard round execute by the attacking team without a prepared strategy, in which players take a site following a familiar, most logical pattern. DisbandEsports Disband is the breakup of an esports team, when the roster ceases to exist in its previous form: the organization terminates contracts with players, or the lineup falls apart on its own.

Entry FraggerCS2 Entry fragger — a player who is the first to enter a site and initiate contact with the enemy, giving the team information about where opponents are positioned. ExploitEsports Exploit is the use of a mistake, mechanical flaw, or loophole in a game to gain an unfair advantage, without formally counting as cheating.

FlashbangCS2 Flashbang is a blinding grenade in CS2 that briefly deprives an opponent of sight and hearing if they're looking toward the explosion.

G

Game SenseEsports Game sense is the ability to read the game situation and anticipate an opponent's actions before they become obvious through direct cues like footstep sounds or a radar blip. GG WPEsports GG WP is the phrase "good game, well played," written in chat after a match as a sign of respect toward opponents regardless of the outcome.

K

K/DEsports K/D is the ratio of a player's kills to deaths over a match, map, or statistical period. It shows how effectively a player trades frags with opponents. KickEsports Kick is the removal of a player from a match, lobby, or team, initiated either by other participants or by the game's system.

L

LurkerCS2 Lurker is a player who operates apart from the team, searching for flanks and information, forcing the opponent to split attention across several directions at once.

M

MidCS2 Mid is the central zone of the map in CS2 that connects both bomb sites and often provides control over map visibility and round timings. MirageCS2 Mirage is one of the most popular maps in Counter-Strike, set in a Middle Eastern city; known for its balance between attacking and defending sides and its almost constant presence in the tournament map pool. MMREsports MMR is a numerical measure of a player's skill level that a platform uses to match opponents of roughly equal strength in ranked matches. MolotovCS2 Molotov is an incendiary grenade in CS2 that creates a patch of fire at the point of impact and deals damage to anyone standing in the flames.

Patch NotesEsports Patch Notes are the official text from developers listing all the changes included in a game update: mechanics adjustments, balance changes, bug fixes, and technical improvements.

SmokeCS2 Smoke is a smoke grenade in CS2 that creates an opaque cloud of smoke and blocks vision for players on both sides of it. StickerCS2 A sticker is a virtual decal in CS2 that can be applied to a weapon in the inventory; some stickers are released for tournaments and bring organizations and players a percentage of sales.

Test BuildEsports Test build is a preliminary version of a game or patch that developers release to check new mechanics, commands, and content before the official release.

U

UtilityCS2 Utility refers to grenades and auxiliary items (smoke, flashbang, molotov, HE grenade) that help control area, blind, or smoke out the enemy without direct weapon damage.
